This itinerary will bring you to the most tourist and “young” areas of Zante island and to some splendid beaches of the National Marine Park.
We’ll let you to begin the day from the Porto Koukla area, close to the area of Lithakià, in order to visit later Laganas and Kalamaki.
Porto Koukla, Laganas and Kalamaki are placed one next to the other along the same bay, therefore the sea is beautiful in the same way in all the three beaches.
Your choice depends on what you’re looking for. Porto Koukla and Kalamaki are relaxing places.

Porto Koukla offers a narrow and long beach, located just in front of Marathonissi islet and here you can find privacy and calm also during the high season.
Kalamaki is more tourist, but also infinitely larger and longer than the previous one.
It is more equipped for tourists and if you walk till the end of the beach, under the mountain, you can practice integral sun bathing without problems.
Instead the beach of Laganas is the paradise for those who are searching for chaotic vacations and beautiful girls. This place is like a summer fun park open day and night. Here in Laganas the beach is full all the day of young people that play aquatic sports and beach volley, while in the evening people move along the main road of the village.
After the dinner Porto Koukla is very calm, so you can choose between the chaotic and crazy Laganas or a walk in the more elegant Kalamaki.


Where to eat along the southern gulf

TAVERNA VARDIOLA - PORTO KOUKLA
In the area of Porto Koukla there is one of the best restaurants of the island, so let’s take something to write it down.
"Taverna Vardiola" is entirely built with local stones and wood and it offers with good prices the most important Greek and Zakynthian dishes. We suggest you to taste the Skordostoubi and the rooster cooked in wine sauce.

POPOLAROS TAVERN - LAGANAS
Along the main road that from the city of Zante takes you to Laganas you will find, shortly before Laganas on your right the sign of the "Popolaros Tavern". This is one of the favourite traditional tavern of local people both for the delicious quality of the food and for the Greek music played live every evening. We suggest you to taste the Flogeres and the rabbit, both exceptional!

MAMAS' PLACE - LAGANAS
In the center of Laganas, along the main road that goes to the beach, you can find just in front of the Rescue club a small tavern called "Mama’s Place".
This is the best place of all Zakynthos island to eat Pitta Gyros; just try one and tell us if we have suggested you a great place or not!

GARDEN OF EDEN & HERMION TAVERN - LAGANAS
In the center of Laganas we also like to suggest you two more good restaurants.
These two place are mostly recommended for young people as they’re always full of young English beauties...
The two restaurants are very close one to the other and they are called "Garden of Eden" and "Hermion Tavern".
In both you can eat traditional Greek dishes and international cuisine.
Just Dimitri, the owner of both, is a show that you can’t miss…

PELOUZO RESTAURANT - KALAMAKI
We suggest you finally, if you stay in Kalamaki, "Pelouzo Restaurant". This is the restaurant of the Crystal Beach Hotel and offers a good cuisine and has a breathtaking view over the sea and the Pelouzo islet. You will seem to have supper and to be served along the beach!

LEVANTINO GIFT SHOP - KALAMAKI
If you choose to make a relaxing walk along the main road of Kalamaki, we suggest you to visit "Levantino gift shop".
It’s a two levels building, extremely big, where you can find really every kind of souvenir, original, funny, elegant or nice as a memory of your vacation in Zante.

F1 GO KART - KALAMAKI
Formula 1 Go Kart is the only professional racing track on Zakynthos island and it is placed along the main road that goes from Kalamaki village to Laganas.
F1 Go Kart is open every day from the first hours in the afternoon till late in the night and if you are a large group of friends don’t forget to call them for the free transfer!

RESCUE CLUB - LAGANAS
For those who prefer the excited night life of Laganas, a name above all: "Rescue Club". It’s the temple of the music and here you can really find anything you’re looking for; girls with miniskirt who dance on the tables, acrobatic barmen and a special machines that throw foam on the people who are dancing.… have a good time!
