Town
The most important town of Elation, the region north of the island, and very famous for the local handcraft.
You can drive there from the western coastal road or from the inland where you can discover the beautiful Zakynthos countryside.
Volimes is divided into three municipalities: Kato Volimes, Ano Volimes and Messo Volimes under one administration and well known for the local handcraft.
In addition to the production of oil and honey there are tablecloths, centrepieces and carpets
hand-made production carried out in winter.
It is thanks to the handcraft of Volimes that Zakynthos distinguished all around Greece.

Beach
Volimes is located in the mountains and as such hasn’t got any beach, the closest ones are the shipwreck beach (Navagio) and Makris Gialos.

How to move
In Volimes the are no agencies renting motorbikes or cars since it is not equipped with tourist facilities. There aren’t even buses daily driving people to Zakynthos.
The closest town offering a bus service is Agios Nikolaos.

Where to lodge
In Volimes it is difficult to find a place o lodge since there are no hotels.

Shops
There are some snack bars and mini markets for the local people and some stalls selling local products.

Amusement
This is a very quiet area and at night it is possible to taste typical dishes in the local taverns but it doesn’t offer any enjoyments after dinner.
