Our traditional tavern is open everyday all year round and is appreciated and frequented by all the local people for the quality of our food and for the love we use to serve our customers.
Since 1992 every single morning we wake up with the only thought of becoming better and better day after day.
In “Popolaros” working with pleasure is a way of life and we like to offer you the best and pure taste with products we produce ourselves.
A great example has given by our HOME MADE BREAD that is hand made and baked in a traditional way in good-burned oven, or by our wine that is a result from an excellent variety of grapes from our own vineyards.
In our tavern you will try all the traditional Zakynthian dishes, we just use fresh daily food and only in our place you can find some particular appetizers as FLOGERES (aubergine, mushrooms, ham and cheese in a fried roll), aubergines balls or BOUREKAKIA (with ham and cheese).
As meat dishes represent a great tradition in our island, you can taste some local dishes made with meat that comes from animals which grow up in our farm. So you’ll have the opportunity to taste our rabbits, our country chicken in red sauce, our Bekri Meze (pork, kefalotyri cheese, mushrooms and olives), our beef in the pot (4 cheese, mushrooms, ham and potatoes), beef in red sauce, STIFADO (beef in red sauce with onions), aubergines "Skordostoubi" (tomato sauce, garlic and wine), zakynthian olive oil cheese and PANZETA (bacon roll with inside tomatoes, peppers, onions and cheese).
During the summer we offer to our customers the possibility to have their dinner outside, while for winter months we have a warm and large internal room.
Every evenings we invite some famous local musicians to play live traditional Greek songs (cantades) in order to make a dinner in Popolaros tavern an unforgettable Zakynthian night.
- Live Greek music
